Undercarder Fibre (by the gram)
'Undercarder' is what we call the very soft and fluffy collection of fibre that accumulates beneath our carding machine. We carefully collect this batt-like 'waste' and store each blend separately. Undercarder is ideal for experimental blending, felting, spinning, stuffing, or whatever you can dream up. Please note that some guard hairs also collect under our carding machine and will likely be found in your fibre!
Options reflect the various yarn blends that we produce on our machine. Although precise composition of the undercarder waste can't be guaranteed,Ā the fibre blends above the carder are:
- 100% Qiviut
- Niviuk (60% qiviut, 30% cashmere, 10% silk)
- Sock (40% qiviut, 35% superwash merino wool, 15% silk, 10% nylon)
- Kunik (discontinued: 60% qiviut, 25% superwash merino wool, 15% silk)
